A.  Staff Development

Artifact:  Staff Needs Assessment
               Results of Needs Assessment

In order to create learning environments to enable other teachers to use technology effectively, it is important to  survey the staff to make sure that staff developments are designed to meet the true needs of staff.  This artifact is a copy of a survey I created on surveymonkey.com to be used at the beginning of the school year to gauge staff technology strengths and weaknesses.  This allows for effective planning of staff development sessions.

TF-II. Planning and Designing Learning Environments and Experiences:  Educational technology facilitators plan, design, and model effective learning environments and multiple experiences supported by technology.
TF-IV. Assessment and Evaluation:  Educational technology facilitators apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies.
TF-VI. Social, Ethical, Legal, and Human Issues:  Educational technology facilitators understand the social, ethical, legal, and human issues surrounding the use of technology in PK-12 schools and assist teachers in applying that understanding in their practice.

B.  Reflection

Technology Plan

This technology plan helped to evaluate and reflect on technology use at Central.  Teachers are surveyed at the beginning of the year about their comfort with various technologies.  This data is evaluated and addressed when planning staff development.  Targeting areas identified from the evaluation will lead to more effective in-services, and in turn more effective instruction which will support student learning.  Evaluating that our goals are being met should be ongoing, making adjustments to our technology plan as needed.  A more formal evaluation should be done yearly.

TF-V.B  Continually evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology in support of student learning.
